I enjoy writing.
The combination of new age online journalism (damn bloggers) and the time-old tradition of deadline-driven hysteria in the news media has steadily edged the approach to storytelling as a craft almost entirely out of the newsroom. Worse, the public likely doesn’t even want the small amount still lingering.
As often as possible, I like the small brush strokes, as oppose to mindlessly tossing the entire can of paint at the canvas that could otherwise become a story.
But, on occasion, there’s just no time. When the circumstances call for it, sometimes you’ve just got to roll up your sleeves, and start typing…
